At near surroundings of Fontaine la Mère you'll find at least 4 interesting lakes and the Arroux river, where you are allowed to fish from May untill the end of September. In this arrangement we take care of the necessary fishing licence and you will be informed about the best spots for fishing.  

4 lovely fishing lakes and a lifely river

In the waters, that are well maintained by the federation of the Sâone et Loire, you'll find mostly carp, pike and bass. Please find below the highlights per location.

Étang de Poisson: 60 acres
Hidden in the forest with fantastic view of the Mont Beuvray. Along the tallest side of the lake, where the road is, you are allowed to fish. Swims are accessible by car and sufficient wooden picknic tables have been placed for diversion.

Étang de Bousson: 115 acres
This fantastic lake lies between the hills nearby St. Didier s. Arroux. Fishing is allowed at 2 sides of the lake: at the forest side and at the side where you'll find an auberge with a nice lunchmenu.

Les carrières: 2 lakes of 5 acres
These well hidden peacefull lakes nearbij the village of Laizy are truely beautifull and very hard to find without instructions. Arround the lakes you'll find several swims that are accessible by car and are sheltered. Recommended!

The Arroux-river:
There are many places along this beautifull river where you can fish. An interesting part nearby is at Etang sur Arroux where the river is quite wide. Occasionally we spot a local angler in the morning to catch some fish that will certainly appear at the diner table later that day! The Arroux river varies from small to wide and from fast to slow streaming.
